When life gives you lemon oil

Let’s talk about the all the ways to use lemon! Warning: this could take a while ;)

First off, let me give you a brief introduction. Lemon is one of the top 10 oils (although really it’s in the top 3 if you ask me!). It’s also the most affordable of all the doTERRA oils. doTERRA’s Lemon is sourced in Italy + Brazil, cold pressed from the rind of the fruit + it takes approximately 7lbs of lemon peel to make a 15ml bottle! The main constituent in Lemon is Limonene which gives it its uplifting + cleansing properties.

I wouldn’t be able to fit all the ways you can use this incredibly versatile + extremely effective oil in just one post, so I’m going to cut it down to my top uses.

🍋1 drop in my water
🍋Seasonal allergy support - combine with lavender + peppermint in a diffuser (2-3 drops of each), roller bottle (5 drops of each topped with FCO IN 10ml roller), 1 drop of each in a shot glass with water
🍋Produce bath - Fill a bowl with water and add 2-3 drops of lemon oil and soak your produce for a couple of hours to remove any dirt + residue
🍋Surface cleaner - add 10 drops lemon, 1 cup water and 1 cup vinegar to a spray bottle
🍋Glass cleaner - in a 16 oz spray bottle add 1.5 cups white vinegar, ½ cup distilled water, 10 drops Lemon
🍋Dishwasher refresher - Pour distilled vinegar into a dish and add 5–10 drops of Lemon oil. Place this dish in your empty dishwasher and run on high.
🍋Natural goo gone - use 1 drop of lemon on sticky residue, wipe with wet cloth
🍋Degreaser - add a drop to your hand wash
🍋Diffusing - 2 drops in your diffuser to uplift move or cleanse the air
🍋Immune support - mix up a Flu Bomb capsule when you’re under the weather - 1 drop of each Frank, Lemon, oregano, On Guard, Tea Tree (FLOOT) in a veggie cap.
🍋Respiratory discomfort - add 5 drops of each Frank, Marjoram, and Lemon to a 10oz roller and top with FCO. Apply to chest to ease coughing + congestion.
🍋Hand sanitizer - mix 15 drops On Guard, 10 drops Lemon, 1 tsp FCO in a 2oz spray bottle, top with water.
